Japanese gardens also feature winter-only adornments that serve to protect against snow — such as yukitsuri (rope supports for tree branches), warabocchi (straw coverings), and komomaki (straw mat wrapping around tree trunks). When snow gently falls upon them, the stillness it creates becomes truly unforgettable.
